Bishop Steven Bids Christians Farewell.

Right Reverend Steven Namanya, the Bishop of North Ankole Anglican Diocese has bid Christians farewell ahead of his retirement.

The Bishop has promised to Preach Peace and Unity between the christains urging them to love peace and reconciliation.

The Bishop delivered his message during farewell prayers held at Emmanuel Cathedral in Rushere town council

The 2nd Bishop of North Ankole Diocese was consecrated and enthroned as Bishop on 2nd August 2015 at Emmanuel Cathedral, Rushere.

 

Canon Namanya is married to Lydia Twikiriize Namanya and they have seven children and he succeed the Rt. Rev. John Muhanguzi who served as the 1st Diocesan Bishop since 2003.

He has made eight years as a shepherd for North Ankore Diocese and he is going to retire after clocking the mandatory 65 years.

 

Bishop informed the Christians that the Church of Uganda, Archbishop Stephen Kazimba Mugalu will enthrone his successor on May 26th, 2024 where the president is expected to be the chief guest.

 

He told the Christians that he will vacate the Bishop’s residence to pave way for its renovation ahead of the enthronement of the third Bishop.

Bishop asked North Ankole Christians to pray for a peaceful transition of Bishop.

Hon Wilson Kajwengye Nyabushozi Member of parliament said that Bishop Steven has performed his pastoral work to their expectations and many people have accepted Jesus as their savior due to his messages and he praised him for developing education department in Kiruhura and Kazo district
