Rt. Rev. Alfred Muhoozi Consecrated as 3rd North Ankole Diocese Bishop

Rev. Alfred Muhoozi yesterday officially took over as the 3^rd Bishop of North Ankole Diocese. He was consecrated and enthroned at exactly 12:00pm on Sunday by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu at St. Emmanuel Cathedral Rushere in Kiruhura district.

It was joy and happiness at the compound of Emmanuel Cathedral as Christians and the clergy witnessed the consecration and official enthronement of Rt Rev Alfred Muhoozi as the third Bishop of North Ankole.

The colorful function which attracted several members of the House of Bishops was presided over by the Archbishop of Uganda the Most Rev. Dr. Kazimba Mugalu.

As by law under the Church, the Bishop-elect first undertook an oath to serve the Church of Uganda faithfully.

Bishop Alfred Muhoozi who shall oversee two districts including Kiruhura and Kazo, in his acceptance speech pointed out key areas of focus during his pastoral work.

In his speech, the Archbishop of Uganda Dr. Kazimba Mugalu encouraged Christians in North Ankole to work with the new Bishop to develop their Diocese.

Preaching during the Service, Rev George Turyasingura the Bishop of East Rwenzori asked Alfred to create togetherness among Christians in the diocese through preaching the Gospel and being Kind.

In his message read by vice president of Uganda Her execellence Jesca Alupo, President Museveni congratulated Bishop Alfred Muhoozi for this milestone and encouraged him to use his pastoral authority to empower Christians

Uganda’s ambassador to Tanzania His excellence Col Fred Mwesigye has congratulated Bishop Emeritus Steven Namanya for the achievements and good projects he did at his time as the Bishop of North Ankole.

During his tenure as Bishop of North Ankole,Bishop Emeritus Steven Namanya brought different income generating activities like Bishop girls school,Canon Buniegwire guest house,platinum saaco and many others.

In his message read by Kiruhura women council chairperson who doubles to be his wife Mrs.Enid Mwesigye,ambassador said that Bishop Namanya steven is hard working person who uplifted the well-being of people of north ankole.
